The 2009 Ninja 500R was the last year of the half-faired 498 cc parallel-twin sportbike that Kawasaki sold as a beginner-friendly middleweight. It carried the same engine, chassis and frame as the 2007 - 2008 bikes, so its character is the same: approachable, light and economical. It is the final production version before the model was replaced in the range.
